Don't worry, I know no one cares THAT much.
But here I go, telling you about my music tastes. Which I think actually tells a lot about a person. For instance, if you told me you LOVED cancer bats I would know straight away to not be friends with you! Haha, I'm kidding (half). I hate people who judge me on my music, or say my taste sucks. Like dude, I spent a lot of time building all this "shit" up. I never asked for your opinion.
'cept now I'm asking for your opinion. I'm only going to post some of my newer music and not waste time on the classics (metric, feist, eisley, the beatles, shit like that... cept obvs. not shit.)
Tell me what you think about my music, because obviously I want to know, or else I wouldn't be posting this on the internet.
Bon Iver
I am a HUGE fan of Bon Iver. I heard about them (or I guess him?) about a year or two ago, and ever since then Bon Iver has been my go-to band. 6 out of my 25 most played on itunes is Bon Iver (Skinny Love, Blood Bank, Flume, Re: Stacks and Beach Baby)
But I really don't like his other band, Volcano Choir. Justin Vernon, lead singer and Bon Iver, is actually simply amazing, but I'm not a fan of VC.
I'm going to post a video of him covering Feist's (another fav.) The Park.
LOVE HIM.
First Aid Kit
Two Swedish sisters. Adorable and such beautiful singers. Folksy indie. Pretty, fun and heartfelt music. My fave kind :)
Neutral Milk Hotel
Good American "Indie"
I hate that that's what they are labeled, but I suppose it's true. Probably their most famous song is In The Aeroplane over the Sea.
What a beautiful face I have found in this place that is circling all around the sun.
Swaying music, y'know. Also nice lyrics.
Grizzly Bear
Such beautiful harmonies and sounds, especially in the song Colorado. Reminds me of the Grand Canyon and the river.
So pretty, and almost naturalistic.
HIP haha.
I recommend them, just like anything else I post ;)
Band of Horses
why do all the bands I love have bearded men in them?
aha.
They are actually so great. Really great vocals, with heavier instruments than I usually like, but epic and fun at the same time. Band of Horses is based out of Seattle, which has such a great music scene. That's one of the places I really want to check out.
The Funeral is prbs their biggest hit, and it's pretty obvious why. It's an amazing song.
love 'em! (<-- that was a bit gay )
Blind Pilot.
Pretty.
Calm.
Lovely.
hip.
I recommend One Red Thread and also 3 rounds and A sound.
Lisa Mitchell.
Gorgeous girl. She actually started out on Australian Idol (i know, weird)
She is so talented and artsy! Her videos are amazing, and her video Coin Laundry (with Johnny Flynn in it) is actually my favourite video EVER. It's beautiful. (So is Johnny.) The way she sings in Coin Laundry actually reminds me of CoCoRosie.
I also really love Neopolitan dreams and Clean White Love by her. She's lovely.
Mumford & Sons.
orgasm.
I love them. so. much.
Aha-more bearded men. They are great. UK band, amaziiing. sorry, I'm not sure what to say about them, I simply love them. Check them out. Winter Winds is probably one of the best songs ever. And Little Lion Man.
And everything by them.
Gah!
We're here, my favourite boy in the world, the afore mentioned and aclaimed JOHNNY FLYNN!
A picture from coin laundry with Lisa Mitchell and J. Flynn. (omg. like actually. AHH.)
Johnny Flynn
My favourite of all time.
He is a genius. He is brilliant. He is fantastically HOT.
No, not hot. Beautiful!
Imagine if he read this. Awkward. If you are reading this Johnny, please don't. It's too embarrassing. I love you though.
Anyways haha. LOOK AT HIS PLAID!
Oh, right, the music...
SO. Johnny Flynn is an indie folky song writer singer. His first actual album (I think) was A larum with so many great songs such as Leftovers, the Wrote and the Writ, The Box and so many more. Go buy it. It's amazing.
And I'm very excited for his next album, Been Listening, which is coming out on June 7th. That album has Kentucky Pill on it, his new single, which is incredible.
Johnny Flynn is such a perfect blend of UK country and folk and contemporary with such beautiful and enchanting lyrics, it's pretty much impossible not to love him.
So, that was a tiny bit of my music. Comment and tell me your favourites and maybe someone I might like?
Did you punch all those clocks?
Did you seal up those time bandits?
If you're playing on the swings
You cant be in the sand pit
Kentucky Pill, Johnny Flynn
xoxox,
Bee savage
